How to preview and convert a font

  1. Choose a TTF, OTF, WOFF, or WOFF2 file.
  2. Type your own sample text and change the size to see how the font looks, or browse every character it contains.
  3. Press a conversion button such as "TTF to WOFF2". The converted file downloads straight away.

Supported conversions

TTF to WOFF, TTF to WOFF2, OTF to WOFF, OTF to WOFF2, WOFF to TTF, WOFF to OTF, WOFF to WOFF2, WOFF2 to TTF, WOFF2 to OTF, and WOFF2 to WOFF. Whether a WOFF or WOFF2 file unpacks to TTF or OTF depends on the outlines inside it.

Font collections (.ttc) and conversions between TrueType and PostScript outlines (TTF to OTF, OTF to TTF) are not supported.

Questions

Is my font file uploaded?

No. The font is read, previewed, and converted in your browser. The WOFF2 engine is a small WebAssembly file served from this site.

Which conversions are supported?

TTF to WOFF, TTF to WOFF2, OTF to WOFF, OTF to WOFF2, WOFF to TTF, WOFF to OTF, WOFF2 to TTF, WOFF2 to OTF, WOFF to WOFF2, and WOFF2 to WOFF. WOFF files wrap the same font data as TTF or OTF, so converting loses nothing.

Why can't I convert OTF to TTF, or TTF to OTF?

Those two formats draw glyphs with different kinds of curves (cubic for OTF, quadratic for TTF). Changing between them means redrawing every outline, which can lower quality, so this tool only wraps and unwraps fonts and never alters the shapes.

Which web font format should I use?

WOFF2 for any current browser: it is typically 30 percent smaller than WOFF. Keep a WOFF copy only if you must support very old browsers.

Can I use any font on my website?

Only if its license allows it. The details panel shows the license text the designer embedded in the file. Converting a font does not change who owns it or what you may do with it.
