How to use the stopwatch and timer
- Choose Stopwatch, Countdown, or Pomodoro.
- For the stopwatch, press Start and use Lap to record split times. Fastest and slowest laps are marked.
- For the countdown, tap a preset or type hours, minutes, and seconds, then press Start. An alarm sounds at zero.
- For Pomodoro, set your focus and break lengths and press Start. Phases switch automatically and each one ends with the alarm.
Leave the tab open while a timer runs. Closing or reloading the page resets it. Turn off "Play a sound" if you only want a visual signal.
Questions
Does the timer keep working if I switch tabs?
Yes. Time is measured with your browser's high-resolution clock, not by counting ticks, so the stopwatch and countdown stay accurate when the tab is in the background. The remaining time is also shown in the tab title so you can check it at a glance.
Will the alarm sound play?
The alarm is made in your browser with the Web Audio API. Browsers only allow sound after you have interacted with the page, so press Start (or "Test sound") once. Check that your device volume is on and the tab is not muted.
What is the Pomodoro technique?
It is a way to work in short, focused blocks. The usual pattern is 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute break, and a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes after four blocks. You can change every length and the number of focus runs before the long break.
Can I run the stopwatch and a countdown at the same time?
Yes. Each timer keeps running when you switch between the Stopwatch, Countdown, and Pomodoro tabs. The tab title shows the first one that is running.
Is anything stored or sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or saved, and timers reset when you close or reload the page.
