How to pick a random name or option
- Type or paste your options into the box, one per line. The wheel updates as you type.
- Press Spin the wheel, or tap the wheel itself. It slows down and stops on the winner.
- Turn on Remove the winner after each spin to draw several different people, one after another.
Need something else? Switch to Random number for a number between any two values, or several different numbers for a raffle. Flip a coin flips up to 100 coins at once, and Roll dice rolls up to 20 dice with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20, or 100 sides and adds them up. Use it to choose who goes first, pick a giveaway winner, decide where to eat, or assign turns in a classroom.
Questions
Are my names or choices sent anywhere?
No. The wheel, the numbers, the coin, and the dice all run in your browser. Your list is never uploaded or saved, and it is gone when you close or reload the page.
Is the pick really random and fair?
Yes. The winner is chosen first with your browser's secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), with a method that avoids the small bias a simple remainder would add. The animation then lands on that winner, so every option has exactly the same chance, however long its name is.
How do I stop the same person winning twice?
Turn on "Remove the winner after each spin". Each winner is taken off the wheel after the spin, so the next spin picks from the rest. "Put removed back" restores everyone.
Can I get several different random numbers, like for a lottery or raffle?
Yes. In "Random number", set the range and how many numbers you want, and turn on "No repeats" so every number is different. You can ask for up to 1000 at once.
The spin is too long, or I do not want animation. What can I do?
If your device is set to reduce motion, the wheel, coin, and dice skip their animations and show the result straight away. You can switch that on in your system's accessibility settings.
