How to convert CSV to JSON

  1. Paste CSV into the left box, or press "Open file" to load a .csv file.
  2. Check the options: the delimiter, whether the first row holds column names, and whether to convert numbers.
  3. Copy the JSON or download it as data.json.

To go the other way, press "Switch to JSON → CSV". The current result moves to the left so you can round-trip your data and check nothing was lost.

Questions

Is my data uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, so customer lists, exports, and other private data never leave your device.

How do I convert an Excel sheet?

In Excel or Google Sheets, save or download the sheet as CSV, then open that file here. Excel in some countries saves with semicolons; "Detect" handles that.

What happens to nested JSON when converting to CSV?

Nested objects become columns with dotted names, such as address.city. Lists are kept as JSON text in a single cell so no data is lost.

Why do some values keep their quotes or turn into numbers?

With "Convert numbers and true/false" on, values like 42 and true become real numbers and booleans in the JSON. Turn it off to keep every value as text, for example for phone numbers or IDs with leading zeros.
