How to add text to an image
- Choose an image. A first text layer appears in the middle.
- Type your text, then pick a font, size, and colour.
- Drag the text where you want it. Add outline, shadow, a background box, or rotation to make it stand out.
- Add more layers if you need them, choose a format, and press Download.
Text size is set as a share of the picture width, so a caption looks the same in the preview and in the full-size file. Save as PNG for sharp edges, or JPG for a smaller photo.

Is my image uploaded?
No. The picture and your text are combined in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I add more than one piece of text?
Yes. Press Add text for each new layer. Every layer has its own font, size, colour, outline, shadow, box, and rotation. Drag any text on the picture to move it, or use the position sliders for exact placement.
Which fonts can I use?
The tool uses fonts already installed on your device, in six families: sans-serif, serif, monospace, a bold headline style, rounded, and handwriting. The exact look can differ a little between Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS, and the saved file shows what your device draws.
How do I make text readable on any photo?
Add an outline in a contrasting colour, a soft shadow, or a semi-transparent background box. White text with a dark outline works on most pictures, and this is the classic meme style.
Does the saved picture keep its full size?
Yes. The preview is a smaller copy, but the file you download is drawn at the original pixel size, with the text scaled to match.
