How to crop a PDF
- Choose a PDF and drag on the page preview to draw the area you want to keep. You can also type the margins.
- Or switch to Trim white margins and let the tool find the content for you.
- Choose all pages or a range, then press Crop PDF to download the result.
Use the arrows above the preview to look at other pages before you apply the crop.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The crop is applied in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Does cropping delete what is outside the box?
No. It sets the visible area of each page, like a mat around a photo. The rest stays inside the file, so do not use cropping to hide sensitive content.
What does "Also shrink the page size" do?
It changes the page size itself, not only the visible area. Turn it on if a program ignores the crop, for example when you place the PDF in a layout or send it to a printer.
How does "Trim white margins" decide where the content is?
It draws each page, finds the outermost pixels that are not white, and crops to them with the space you choose. A faint background tint or a scan shadow counts as content.
What if my pages have different sizes?
The crop is stored as margins from each page edge, so every page loses the same amount on each side. Use Selected pages to treat different sizes separately.
