How to fill in a PDF form
- Choose your PDF. Its form fields appear in a list next to the page, and as highlighted boxes on the page.
- Type in the fields, tick boxes, and pick options. Use Add text to write anywhere else on the page.
- Press Save and download. Tick Flatten the form first if the answers should become permanent.
The page shows a close approximation of your entries. Open the saved file in a PDF reader for a final check before you send it.
Questions
Is my form uploaded?
No. The form is read and filled in your browser, and the finished PDF is created on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
What if my PDF has no fillable fields?
Many PDFs are just pictures of a form. Use Add text, then click the page where the text should start. You can type anywhere and choose the size.
What does flattening do?
Flattening turns your answers into fixed page content and removes the fields. Nobody can change the answers afterwards in a PDF reader. Leave it off if you still want to edit the form later.
Why can I not fill a button or signature field?
Buttons and signature fields are not form answers. To sign a PDF, use the Sign PDF tool on this site.
Why does my text show a character error?
Form text is saved with a standard PDF font that covers Western European letters. Emoji and other alphabets cannot be drawn, so replace them with plain Latin letters.
