How to convert Markdown to HTML

  1. Write or paste Markdown, or open a .md file.
  2. The HTML appears on the right, with a formatted preview below.
  3. Copy the HTML or download it as a file.

To go the other way, choose HTML → Markdown and paste HTML, for example from a web page or an email.

Questions

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Conversion and preview run in your browser.

Is the HTML safe to use on my website?

The preview removes scripts and other unsafe parts before showing it. The HTML you copy is exactly what your Markdown produces; if your Markdown contains raw HTML from someone else, run it through a sanitizer on your own site too.

What does "GitHub style" add?

Tables, task lists with [ ] and [x], strikethrough with ~~text~~, and automatic links, the same extras GitHub and many editors support.

Does HTML to Markdown keep everything?

Headings, lists, links, images, emphasis, quotes, and code blocks convert cleanly. Layout and styling such as colors, classes, and complex tables have no Markdown equivalent and are dropped.
