How to compare two texts
- Paste the original text on the left and the changed text on the right.
- Choose to compare by words, lines, or characters.
- Read the result: removed parts are struck through in red, added parts are green.
Use Swap to flip the two sides, for example to see a change from the other point of view.
Questions
Is my text uploaded?
No. Both texts are compared in your browser. Contracts, code, and drafts never leave your device.
Should I compare by words, lines, or characters?
Words suits documents and emails. Lines suits code, lists, and config files. Characters shows the smallest changes, such as a single typo or a changed digit.
Can I compare code?
Yes. Choose Lines, and turn on "Ignore spaces" if only indentation changed.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit. Very long texts (hundreds of thousands of words) take longer because every part is compared, but the page stays usable while it works.
