How to make a meme
- Choose your own picture.
- Type the top and bottom captions. Pick a text, then change its size, color, and outline.
- Drag text to move it, or press Add text box for more lines.
- Choose PNG or JPG and press Download.
Short captions read best. Keep ALL CAPS on for the classic look, or turn it off for sentence case. White text with a thick black outline stays readable on almost any photo.

Is my picture uploaded?
No. The caption is drawn on a canvas in your browser tab, and the finished meme is saved straight to your device.
Do you have meme templates?
No. Bring your own picture, such as a photo you took or one you have the right to use. This avoids copyright problems with popular template images.
What font is used?
The classic meme look uses Impact, which is installed on Windows and Mac. On other systems the closest bold sans-serif font is used. No fonts are downloaded.
Can I put text in the middle of the picture?
Yes. Press Add text box, then drag it anywhere on the picture, or set its position with the sliders. Every text box has its own size, color, and outline.
Is the saved meme full size?
Yes. It has the same width and height as your picture. PNG keeps the text edges crisp; JPG makes a smaller file.
