How to convert a PDF to text
- Choose a PDF, or drop it onto the box.
- Pick all pages or a range, and decide whether lines are joined into paragraphs.
- Press Extract text, then copy the result or download it as a .txt file.
Only PDFs that contain real text work. If you can select words with your mouse in a PDF reader, this tool can read them.
Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The text is read in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
Why does it say "No selectable text found"?
The PDF is probably a scan or a photo of a page. Its pages are pictures, so there is no text to copy. Reading those needs OCR, which this tool does not offer.
Will columns, tables, and headers come out in the right order?
Text is read in the order the PDF stores it, which matches reading order for most documents. Multi-column layouts and tables can come out mixed. Turn off "Join lines" to see every line as the PDF has it.
Can I extract only some pages?
Yes. Choose Selected pages and type ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-. Turn on "Mark each page" to keep track of where each page starts.
