How to scan a QR code or barcode
- Choose "An image" and pick a photo or screenshot, or paste one with Ctrl+V.
- Or choose "The camera", press Start camera, and point it at the code.
- Read the result. Links can be opened and any text can be copied; Wi-Fi codes show the network name and password.
Several codes in one picture are all read at once.
Questions
Are my photos or camera images uploaded?
No. The image or video is read inside your browser. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
How do I scan a QR code that is on my screen?
Take a screenshot, then press Ctrl+V on this page (or choose the screenshot file). The code is read straight from the image, no second device needed.
Which codes can it read?
QR codes, Micro QR, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, and common barcodes such as EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, Code 39, ITF, and Codabar.
Is it safe to open the links?
A QR code can point anywhere. Check the web address shown before opening it, especially on stickers in public places. The tool never opens links on its own.
Why does the camera not start?
Your browser asks for permission the first time. If you blocked it, allow the camera for this site in the browser settings. On a computer without a camera, scan a photo instead.
