How to make a screenshot look good
- Choose a screenshot, or paste one with Ctrl+V.
- Pick a gradient, a solid colour, or your own image for the background.
- Add a window frame, then set padding, rounded corners, and shadow. Choose a shape for the platform you post on.
- Pick 1× or 2×, choose PNG, JPG, or WebP, and press Download.
Soft shadows and generous padding make a screenshot stand out in a feed. A dark frame suits dark apps, and a light frame suits light ones. PNG keeps text crisp; JPG gives a smaller file for photos.
Questions
Is my screenshot uploaded?
No. The screenshot, background, and finished picture are made in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, which matters when a screenshot shows private data.
Which sizes can I make for social media?
Pick a shape: 16:9, 1:1 square, 4:5 portrait, X / Twitter post, or LinkedIn post. The screenshot keeps its proportions and the background grows to fill the shape. Add padding to make the screenshot smaller within it.
What does the 2× size do?
It saves the picture at twice the pixel size, so text stays sharp on high-density screens and when the picture is shown smaller. Choose 1× for a smaller file.
Can I use my own background?
Yes. Choose a solid colour, or press Use an image to put a photo or pattern behind the screenshot. It is scaled to cover the whole picture.
Do the window frames copy a real operating system or browser?
No. The desktop window and browser frames are our own simple designs with generic title bars. They are not logos or official interface artwork.
