How to burn subtitles into a video
- Drop a video on the box.
- Choose a subtitle file, or type or paste subtitles. The list shows every line; choose one to jump to it.
- Set the font, size, colors, background box, and position, and play the preview to check the timing.
- Press Burn subtitles and save and download the video.
ASS and SSA styling such as colors and positions is not applied; only the words and timing are used, and the style you pick here is drawn instead.
Questions
Is my video or subtitle file uploaded?
No. The video and the subtitles are read and combined inside this browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
What does burning subtitles mean?
The words are drawn into the picture itself, so they show in every player and on every platform and cannot be turned off. Soft subtitles, in contrast, are a separate track that a player can hide.
The subtitles appear too early or too late. How do I fix that?
Use Shift timing under Style. A positive number shows every subtitle later and a negative number earlier, in milliseconds. For subtitles that drift more and more, fix them first in the Subtitle Converter & Editor.
Which subtitle formats can I use?
SRT, WebVTT, ASS or SSA (text and timing only), SBV, and plain text lines. You can also type or paste subtitles straight into the box.
Why do some characters look wrong?
The text is drawn with a font from your device. Most Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, and Asian text works, but a font with no glyph for a character shows an empty box. Try another font from the list.
