How to record your screen
- Tick whether to record computer audio and your microphone.
- Press Start recording and choose a screen, window, or tab in the box your browser shows.
- A three second countdown runs, then recording starts. Press Stop when you are done.
- Watch the preview and download it as WebM, or convert it to MP4 first.
Sharing a single window or tab keeps private notifications and other apps out of the recording. Long recordings are kept in memory, so stop and download after a few minutes if you are recording at high resolution.
Questions
Is my screen recording uploaded?
No. Your browser captures the screen and this page saves it in memory on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
Can I record sound from my computer?
In Chrome and Edge, choose a browser tab (or a whole screen on Windows) and tick "Share tab audio" or "Share system audio" in the sharing box. Firefox and Safari cannot capture computer audio, but you can still record your microphone.
WebM or MP4?
Recordings are saved as WebM, which Chrome, Edge, and Firefox write directly. If you need MP4 for chat apps or editors, press Convert to MP4 after recording. Safari records MP4 straight away.
Why can I not record on my phone?
Phone browsers do not allow web pages to record the screen. Use the screen recorder built into your phone, then compress or convert the file with the other tools here.
Does it record protected video from streaming sites?
Often it shows a black picture. Streaming services mark their video as protected, and the browser respects that.
